ARC 441 - Alvar Aalto

This course, which was an intensive study of Alvar Aalto's many works, was broken up into three main phases: research, analysis, and conclusion. In the first phase, everyone in the class was assigned one of Aalto's buildings to research and document. We first diagramed the primary concepts behind each design and then made sectional models of the buildings that best illustrated said concepts.

The next phase involved the actual trip to Finland that we took to visit the buildings we researched. While we were there, we were assigned to analyze each design through sketching.

The final phase of the course involved us formulating a visual and written conclusion of all that we researched and analyzed.
